Santoku Knives

Santoku - Asian Chef's Knife. Originating in Japan, Santoku knives are rapidly gaining popularity among chefs around the world. They look similar to a typical Chef's knife, except that they are slightly shorter (usually 5-7 inches) and lighter. The blade is straight with a downward rounded point, and often with serrations on the sides to prevent food from sticking to the knife. Santoku knives are great for slicing vegetables and boneless or thin-boned meat, and by working with smooth movements without excessive pressure, the resulting slices are even and smooth.
